wtf you mean you all got a 99 on the ASVAB too? damn you people I thought I was the only one >_>

I work at Randolph AFB in San Antonio.

I work for about 3 Capt, 3 Maj, 4 LtCol, and 1 Col.

They are all pilots and navigators, now working in Flight Training.

Its cool stuff...at least it is to me. I always wanted to join the AF and be a pilot. I just got too caught up in smoking weed + so never went with it.

recruiters tell you what they think you want to hear, I liken them to used car salesmen...

My Drill Instructor was an infantry sergeant with a 99 ASVAB. He stormed the presidential palace in OIF. Smarts do not save a warrior from war.

I took it in a big classroom both times and I remember that the recruiters would pick people up to take the test and would almost bend over backwards for a commitment.

Then, people would be like, I need more time!!!! OMFGz! (Only they used more swear words and grunts.)

Post by Tray » Thu Nov 16, 2006 4:58 pm

I couldn't believe how easy the math was though.

stuff like

18
15+

Of course it was timed but still come on, I always finished way before the time limit. The lady giving me the test was tickled because she got paid for giving the test whether it took 6 hours or 2 so me smoking through it made her really happy. My buddy went to Denver to take it in a big classroom with like 100 people and was there for hours.

Looking around the testing center, it's not surprising. Majority of the people probably don't even know what a GED is. But, the test wasn't exactly rocket science either.
The recruiters are all all "it means you'll never see combat". BFS.

Damn here I thought my 99 was unique.

Fucking recruiters.

Chandos would have had to go Navy

So he could be a Seamen stationed at Ft. Dix.

i wanted to enlist but then quickly realized im canadian... and im here ust to mooch off the wonderful american resources =D

Post by AlkalineDave » Thu Nov 16, 2006 4:46 pm

I got a 99 on the ASVAB (hightest score possible. not swinging the peen, just saying). So all branches wanted their shot. Of course I had to join the marines. I could be in the Air Force playing golf instead of working. Of course I wouldn't get to do things like this.

P.S. I like Tray cause he's not a bitch.

Post by chandos » Thu Nov 16, 2006 4:40 pm

i wanted to enlist too. did the asvab twice. but then jared told me i wasn't cut out for it and i dropped the idea.

Post by Tray » Thu Nov 16, 2006 4:36 pm

Took the nuclear test, and scored really really well.

Got to take the ASVAB by myself and smoked that one too.

Was seriously looking at Navy or Marines didn't exactly know what I was going to do.

Then I decided I was going to piss my time away getting laid, smoking dope and drinking 40's until I got fed up of school and lost my scholorships.

Decided the oilfield was the place for me after that.

Been working out well, although I really did want to enlist again when we invaded Iraq and all that shit was televised. Not for some sick and twisted getting my gun off fetish, but because it just seemed like we were doing the right thing at the time.

Plus I think that's why Dave likes me so much, I posted something along the lines of "Daves a marine serving overseas during times of war, so he can pretty much have any opinion he wants and you guys in your colleges can stfu and just tip your hat to him for what he's doing for you" or similar I think.

sometimes i regret my pigheadedness of not joining the airforce back in the day.

Id be at least a captain by now, and have had all my college paid for. instead i was too cool and now have 30k college debt, working as a system admin, with 3 classes short of a psychology degree.

:?

Fuck the Air Force. They're a bunch of pussies.

Actually, I have friends in the Air Force. When I sleep in mud, they're in hotels. :-(
