I feel bad for coming into this late.... I work for EA. I didn't read everything in here but i saw someone mention the online pass.... which comes with the game if you buy it new. Either way, i just posted a RoS "platoon" on battlelog which is like the wow armory of BF3 basically. battlelog.battlefield.com and enter your origin account info. BF3 is the better choice over MW3.... because MW3 is going to suck.

So here's where I'm at with my piecemealing.

Items I have:

Case
Power Supply
Mobo
DVD drive(S)
SSD Drive (40 gig)
Thermal paste
SATA Cables

What I'm going to wait until black Friday / cyber Monday:
CPU
Graphics Card
Memory
Storage HD

What am I missing? Seems like I'm forgetting some shit.

Also Git can you still get that Windows 7 deal? I might take you up on that, as my company only has corporate licenses for Office.

Also has anyone transferred their steam files to a new computer? I'm not looking forward to D/L'ing all this shit again. I have a external HD that's a terabyte, so I was hoping I could put the game folder on there, then move it over. I imagine it'll have to recertify everything or whatever but just want to avoid the downloading.

Nothing core-componenty I can think of, no new monitor(s)? Keyboard? Mouse? Speakers?

I can't speak for MW3, but BF3 is still broken. I played last night and my bullets were still flying wildly about. I don't know if letting you play my copy is as easy as giving you my username and pass, but you're welcome to both if you want to make use it. I can't imagine me getting any more use out of it.

I don't know what your PSU is rated, but depending on the video card you pick up, you may need to upgrade. Also, I don't know how old your mobo is, but it may not be configured to receive whatever CPU you pick up. If it's an Intel chip, you won't need thermal paste because that's pre-applied these days. SATA cables are out and optic IDEs are in. You're missing a but4.

When I say items I have I mean items I've already purchased. In the last week/10 days.

Only thing I'm reusing is my monitor, keyboard, mouse, & speakers/headset.

tenebris123 is my name in bf3. Seems like this game is bad company 2.5. Which is not entirely a bad thing. I was in a 60 player server having a great time. Seeing two jets fly into each other was hilarious.
